Edge-To-Edge
Edge-to-Edge quilting consists of one design quilted repeatedly across your
quilt top, ignoring blocks and borders. Also included in this category is large
meandering (as around a half-dollar). .013¢ - .025¢ per square inch.
Minimum fee $35.
Allover Freehand
Allover design performed freehand especially for your quilt. Usually denser
than edge-to-edge. .016¢ - .025¢ per square inch. Minimum fee $35.
Custom
Custom quilting comprises the creation and sizing of coordinating quilting designs
in order to fill your blocks and one border. Also included in this category
is small meandering (as around a quarter), stitching in-the-ditch, and freehand
quilting an all-over design. .02¢ - .04¢ per square inch. Minimum
fee $40.
Heirloom
Heirloom quilting encompasses several different coordinating designs, sized
and drafted especially for your quilt, and executed in more detail than custom
quilting, including up to two border designs. Also included in this category
are McTavishing, Trapunto, Faux Trapunto, echo quilting and cross-hatching.
.03¢ - .08¢ per square inch. Minimum fee $45.
Binding Service
Binding requires an additional yard of your fabric. All unused fabric is returned
with the quilt.
Machine sewing to the front and left to you to turn and hand sew to the back..10¢
per linear inch.
Hand sewing to the back..25¢ per linear inch.
Preparation...10¢ per linear inch.
Basting
For those who want to hand quilt. This stabilizes your quilt from edge to edge,
using a 4" to 6" apart. I use Vanishing Thread. So no pulling the basting out.
.005¢ per square inch. Minimum fee $25.
Commissioned Quilts
I have some quilts made and ready for purchase. Look under my quilts
for sale. I will also make custom made quilts with your choice of pattern
and fabric colors. Quilts are made with quilt shop quality 100% cotton fabric
and 100% cotton, wool, or polyester batting. My quilts are longarm machine quilted
for durability. If you would like a quilt made for an heirloom I can machine
quilt it so it looks like hand quilted. Prices vary according to size of quilt
and the finishing technique used.
For All Styles:
A service fee of $15 per hour will be charged for any incomplete preparation.
Rush Fee $50.
Mail Order Service Available through The United States Post Office.
Turning and remounting quilt charge for borders: $15 per quilt.
Trapunto & double wedding ring quilts carry an extra charge of $30.
Each quilt carries a $5 - $7 thread charge. Extra charges may apply for specialty threads.
The balance is payable on completion.
